Capacidade absortiva: adaptação e validação de uma escala em empresas sul-brasileiras

Abstract

Um dos principais elementos do processo de criacao de conhecimento e inovacao refere-se a capacidade das firmas de absorver conhecimento externo, conceituada como Capacidade Absortiva (ACAP). Dado o crescimento da economia no Brasil, bem como o aumento da concorrencia e a necessidade de inovar para garantir vantagem competitiva, a validacao de uma escala para este conceito no ambiente brasileiro torna-se relevante. Este artigo teve como objetivo adaptar e validar a escala de Flatten et al. (2011) no contexto brasileiro. A escala foi traduzida, adaptada, avaliada por especialistas e posteriormente testada em uma amostra de 495 empresas localizadas no Estado do Rio Grande do Sul, de diferentes portes, setores da industria e intensidades tecnologicas. Como metodo, foi utilizada a analise fatorial confirmatoria. Grande parte da amostra apresentou as quatro dimensoes da Capacidade Absortiva desenvolvidas, mas algumas dimensoes sao mais relevantes para o desenvolvimento de tecnologias do que outras. As variaveis mais desenvolvidas estao relacionadas a importância da adocao de novas tecnologias e ao incentivo dos gestores no relacionamento entre as areas da empresa. A escala foi validada, indicando a consistencia e adequacao deste instrumento para o contexto sul-brasileiro. Tambem ficou claro que a ACAP apresenta quatro dimensoes realmente distintas.Palavras-chave: Capacidade Absortiva, internalizacao do conhecimento, mensuracao, escala.
