Abstract

Vale iniciar colocando a necessidade de bem caracterizar os dois campos disciplinares - historia e geografia - e de bem equacionar suas relacoes e articulacoes. Em outros termos, cabe delimitar o universo de investigacao enfocado e explicitar as motivacoes teoricas de seu estudo, evitando o fascinio do empirismo historiografico, postura com possibilidade de ampla difusao num campo ainda pouco explorado em termos de levantamentos empiricos como o da historia da geografia no Brasil.
