Archaeological remnants of the “Srubnaya” or “Srubnik” culture, characteristic of the steppe regions of Southern Russia in the Late Bronze period (17th - 12th centuries BC), offer a model of human behavior that was strictly dependent on culturally marked territories. Applied to later Indo-European cultures, this model can be helpful for deciphering certain practices and cultural codes, including religious ones.
