Abstract

Erwin Panofskys Nachruf auf Aby Warburg ist im Hamburger Fremdenblatt vom 28. Oktober 1929 erschienen.

Erwin Panofsky’s Obituary for Aby Warburg was published in the Hamburger Fremdenblatt on 28. 10. 1929. So it is an eminent member of the “laboratory” who wrote this commemorative text. The obituary gives us a sharp insight into the key elements of Warburg’s scientific and institutional work, and stresses the coherence (“the common vanishing point”) of a way of thinking and a work method that remain unique.
