A sa sortie de l’Ecole nationale des chartes en 1967, avec une these sur l’archeologie de L’Abbaye de Fontevrault de la reforme de 1458 a nos jours, Michel Melot entre a la Bibliotheque nationale comme conservateur au departement des Estampes et de la photographie, departement qu’il dirige de 1981 a 1983, premiere etape d’une carriere scientifique et institutionnelle riche. Secretaire du Centre national de la photographie, fonde en 1982 par Jack Lang, jusqu’a son depart de la Bibliotheque nat...
