A dança como alma da brasilidade

Abstract

Sentir o mundo é uma outra maneira de pensá-lo, transformando o sensível em inteligível. Partindo de um acontecimento que mobilizou a opinião pública em 1913- apresentação da dança do maxixe, em Paris- o artigo analisa o processo de invenção de um acontecimento na imprensa, envolvendo atores sociais e a dramatização da nacionalidade. Inspirando-se nos referenciais de uma cultura sensível, enfatiza a dimensão corpórea da brasilidade, através de Mário de Andrade, Olavo Bilac e Raul Pederneiras. Discute a relação entre as cidades do Rio de Janeiro e Paris como resultado de uma trama complexa de valores combinando espelhamentos, pertencimentos culturais e démarches criativas. Inspirando-se na dinâmica da vida ordinária, focaliza a narrativa de Maria Lina, dançarina-atriz, e a narrativa que sobre ela se construiu na imprensa brasileira, mostrando como se efetuou a articulação das vozes singulares com a expressão coletiva da opinião.
