Abstract

Recorrendo ao exercício autorreflexivo, analisamos a implantação do curso de graduação em Antropologia no campus da Universidade Federal do Amazonas na cidade de Benjamin Constant e sua associação ao recente processo de expansão universitária no Brasil. A situação analisada se desenvolve na região de tríplice fronteira amazônica entre Brasil, Colômbia e Peru e traz à luz questões sobre a polissemia da fronteira; o contexto político que propiciou a criação do curso; algumas representações da Amazônia e da Antropologia; e os efeitos desse processo para o fazer antropológico. Refletimos como nossas experiências de ensino, pesquisa e extensão na fronteira foram positivamente afetadas pelos modos de experimentação da antropologia vivenciados pelas estudantes mulheres e indígenas com quem partilhamos esse percurso.
