
Este artículo realiza un análisis histórico sobre la figura del basilisco, partiendo de la literatura de la antigua Roma, pasando por la Edad Media y el Renacimiento, para terminar con un breve estudio de su supervivencia en las tierras de América, adonde quizá llegó gracias a los nutridos contingentes iniciales de inmigrantes andaluces.
