Abstract

En este artículo se aborda, en primer lugar, el perfil biográfico del dominico fray Juan de Villagarcía, su papel en la recatolización de Inglaterra y sus problemas con el Santo Oficio, paralelos al proceso de su maestro, el arzobispo de Toledo Carranza. Se analizará también su manuscrito: Diálogo o Cadena de oro para atraer a los herejes, escrito entre 1560 y 1563, estableciendo similitudes y distancias respecto al pensamiento de Carranza.
