
El empleo de ronzales para guiar no bóvidos sino équidos está presente en la Península Ibérica ya en abrigos prehistóricos levantinos, aunque no es posible precisar la presencia de narigón metálico. En la edad del Hierro se documenta arqueológicamente el narigón en la Península Ibérica, y la iconografía cerámica itálica muestra su compatibilidad con el empleo de bridas.
