De la Historia de rebus Hispaniae a la Estoria de los godos y el Sumario Analístico: Constanza y Zaida entre tradiciones, discursos y contextos

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza dos obras historiográficas del siglo XIII, la Estoria de los godos y el Sumario Analístico, a través de tres núcleos temáticos sobre el reinado de Alfonso VI en el que aparecen Constanza y Zaida. El cotejo de los pasajes con su fuente latina, De rebus Hispaniae, y con la historiografía coetánea pone de manifiesto sus tendencias compositivas. Dado que las particularidades examinadas están en consonancia con los impulsos del último período del reinado alfonsí, se propone un entorno cortesano-eclesiástico como responsable de o favorable a estas reescrituras romances. Esta hipótesis, complementaria con lo alegado por la crítica de los últimos años, ofrece lecturas alternativas de las tendencias estudiadas, a la vez apreciando las diferencias internas entre la Estoria de los godos y el Sumario Analístico.
