Comment le monde social du rap amenage-t-il son territoire ?

Abstract

En 1999, après un large succès commercial, l’album “Panique Celtique” de Manau reçoit aux Victoires de la Musique la récompense de meilleur album Rap et Groove de l’année. La presse spécialisée rap s’élève contre cette distinction, et conteste l’idée que Manau puisse être un groupe de rap. Cette entreprise de morale, en travaillant ses frontières, suggère l’existence d’un monde social du rap. Mais la pleine compréhension de la polémique qui naît autour de Manau suppose également d’étudier les acteurs qui, tout en se définissant comme extérieurs au monde du rap, ne contribuent pas moins à en produire les frontières.
