Abstract

Résumé La problématique de l’efficacité militaire constitue une voie de renouveau de l’analyse des relations civils-militaires dans un contexte où la question de la subordination du militaire au politique est moins saillante dans les démocraties contemporaines. Les relations civils-militaires sont-elles un facteur déterminant de l’efficacité militaire des démocraties libérales ? Quels types de relations entre le pouvoir politique et l’armée garantissent la meilleure efficacité militaire ? L’objectif de cet article est d’offrir une analyse préliminaire des relations entre relations civils-militaires et efficacité militaire dans les démocraties libérales, à partir d’une comparaison entre les États-Unis, le Royaume-Uni et la France portant sur la stratégie générale et l’emploi de la force.
