Abstract

L’information provenant des criminels est une des meilleures sources afin de comprendre la commission des crimes ainsi que leur prévention. Utilisant des données auto-reportées obtenus auprès de délinquants sexuels incarcérés, cette étude présente l’approche innovatrice de scripts pour analyser et comparer à chaque étape du processus de commission du crime les abus sexuels commis par les délinquants sexuels et les abus sexuels qui ont avortés. Ces abus sexuels impliquent des femmes adultes ainsi que des enfants. Les résultats indiquent: (1) le besoin d’améliorer l’efficacité des mesures de prévention situationnelle à l’étape préliminaire du processus de commission du crime et (2) démontrent l’importance de l’analyse de scripts afin d’identifier de nouvelles pistes pour la prévention.
