Les émeutes juvéniles en Europe : question urbaine, sociale ou « ethnique » ?

Abstract

Résumé Au cours de ces trente dernières années, le phénomène des émeutes urbaines s’est diffusé dans divers pays européens. Les émeutes peuvent être très différentes selon les contextes nationaux, mais on relève des traits communs : relégation spatiale, vulnérabilité socio-économique, discrimination raciale et, parfois, marginalisation politique des populations concernées. Dans tous les pays, la ségrégation urbaine prend une intensité particulière en fonction de certains éléments fondamentaux, dont le poids de l’industrialisation, le type d’organisation de l’État-providence et les conditions politiques de l’accueil des populations immigrées.
