Abstract

Chi debba trattare di fisiognomica, esordisce di solito sottolineando l’antichita della disciplina e citando nientemeno che Aristotele fra i suoi numi tutelari. Al contrario, chi dimostra teoremi o misura aree non mai sente il bisogno di precisare che le origini della geometria risalgono addirittura a Talete; ne, curando o somministrando farmaci, i medici si sentono in dovere di menzionare Ippocrate o Charcot.
