Présentation des réflexions de Jaime Semprun sur la "refonte linguistique radicale, introduisant une rupture complète avec le passé", provoquée par les conditions de vie dans la société industrielle avancée, analogue selon lui à ce qu'Orwell avait décrit sous le nom de "novlangue", et sur sa défense de ce qu'il appelait par opposition : l' "archéolangue".
