Silence liberateur. Silence destructeur

Abstract

Tout sens est sur fond de silence, émerge du silence. Écouter de la musique suppose de « faire » silence. À ce moment-là seulement on peut être dans la réceptivité. Et c’est vrai tout aussi bien pour l’artiste, qui sans cela n’aurait nulle inspiration, et ainsi en fait de toute l’existence… Mais en tout premier lieu, le silence demeure au cœur des relations humaines : nulle parole n’est possible, nul dialogue, nulle société, si on ne sait se taire, non seulement pour parler (d’une parole qui émerge vraiment du sentiment), mais pour être véritablement dans l’échange avec l’autre, c’est-à-dire lui donner la parole, et la recevoir de lui. C’est là l’essence de toute société et existence possibles. Inversement, il y a la parole qui ne sait procéder du silence, la parole qui envahit tout, occupe tout l’espace, n’offre pas de place à l’autre, ou encore le silence opaque, qui ne salue pas ni ne répond, ne renvoie qu’indifférence ou dédain, et mure l’interlocuteur dans le mutisme et l’inexistence. Car seule la réciprocité du contact et de la parole donne existence. Deux visages donc du silence : de libération ou d’aliénation.
