Abstract

El proposito de este trabajo es demostrar que los cuentos ‘Chac Mool’ (1954) de Carlos Fuentes y ‘Coatlicue’ (2003) de Elena Poniatowska se apropian de motivos de la cosmovision azteca a fin de desarticular la formacion discursiva del imaginario nacional mexicano. Sin embargo, los autores proponen, mas que una articulacion poetica de esos motivos, una deconstruccion poetica de la historia y de los mitos de Mexico que cimientan la identidad nacional. Al ofrecer una imagen literaria y viva del pais, los autores buscan tambien narrarlo, recrear sus mitos y mitologias, pero asimismo ofrecer una mirada al margen de las narrativas oficiales.
