Abstract

A estrutura física da economia é composta por recursos materiais, cuja extração, processamento e uso impactam o meio ambiente, a economia e a sociedade. Para mitigar os impactos ambientais e promover a sustentabilidade, a economia circular se destaca como uma abordagem importante, visando maximizar a eficiência dos recursos e minimizar o desperdício, através da reutilização, reciclagem e regeneração de produtos e materiais. Essa transição para uma economia circular exige mudanças em políticas, regulamentações e práticas empresariais, com a colaboração de diversos atores, como governos, empresas e consumidores. O desafio principal é melhorar a eficiência dos recursos em todas as fases do ciclo de vida do material e promover a gestão adequada dos resíduos. Isso inclui políticas de prevenção, ecodesign, reutilização, e o uso de práticas sustentáveis que favoreçam a redução, reutilização e reciclagem de materiais. Uma gestão eficaz dos recursos materiais é crucial para garantir o crescimento verde, o desenvolvimento sustentável e a preservação dos recursos naturais para as futuras gerações.
