Mercado laboral: informalidad y oportunidades de empleo

Abstract

Este estudio analiza la problemática del desempleo y la informalidad laboral en el distrito de Santiago, provincia de Veraguas, en un contexto nacional marcado por desigualdad, baja inversión y creciente precariedad del empleo juvenil. El objetivo principal es identificar las causas estructurales que impiden la inserción laboral formal de amplios sectores de la población, especialmente jóvenes, mujeres y personas con baja escolaridad, así como explorar las oportunidades reales de empleo y los sectores con mayor potencial. Para ello, se adoptó un enfoque mixto con predominancia cuantitativa, mediante una investigación descriptiva, observacional y transversal. Se aplicaron encuestas a 40 personas seleccionadas mediante muestreo aleatorio estratificado, complementadas con revisión documental y análisis estadístico. Los resultados revelan una alta prevalencia de informalidad (57,5%), bajos niveles de satisfacción laboral y una percepción generalizada de inaccesibilidad a la capacitación. El sector servicios lidera en percepción de oportunidades, pero persisten importantes brechas formativas y tecnológicas. El estudio concluye que es urgente fortalecer las políticas públicas de empleo, promover la formalización, e invertir en formación técnica pertinente, especialmente en zonas rurales y con alta vulnerabilidad social, como estrategia clave para el desarrollo sostenible e inclusivo.
