Abstract

Ruang kelas fisik "fisik dan mortir" mulai kehilangan monopoli sebagai tempat belajar. Internet telah memungkinkan pembelajaran online, dan banyak peneliti serta pendidik tertarik pada pembelajaran online untuk meningkatkan dan meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa sambil memerangi pengurangan sumber daya, terutama di pendidikan tinggi. Penting bagi peneliti dan pendidik untuk mempertimbangkan keefektifan pembelajaran online dibandingkan dengan format tatap muka tradisional dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi keefektifan kursus online. Penelitian ini mengkaji bukti keefektifan pembelajaran online dengan mengorganisir dan merangkum temuan dan tantangan pembelajaran online menjadi temuan positif, negatif, campuran, dan nol. Perhatian khusus diberikan pada meta-analisis tentang keefektifan pembelajaran online, hasil belajar siswa yang beragam dan masalah endogen pilihan lingkungan belajar. Secara keseluruhan, terdapat bukti kuat yang menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran online umumnya setidaknya sama efektifnya dengan format tradisional. Selain itu, kumpulan literatur ini menyarankan bahwa para peneliti harus melampaui fenomena "tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan" dan mempertimbangkan tahap pembelajaran online berikutnya.
