Abstract

Bu bölümde, Paramyxoviridae ve Pneumoviridae ailelerine ait virusların genel özellikleri ile ruminant ve domuzlarda enfeksiyon oluşturan başlıca türler ele alınmıştır. Zarflı yapıda ve negatif polariteli tek iplikçikli RNA genomuna sahip bu viruslar, özellikle solunum sistemi olmak üzere çeşitli organ ve sistemlerde enfeksiyonlara neden olabilir. Zoonotik öneme sahip Nipah virus enfeksiyonları, eradike edilen sığır vebası ve eradikasyon hedefi olan küçük ruminant vebasının yanı sıra, BPIV-3 ve BRSV gibi yaygın viral etkenlerin etiyolojisi, patogenezi, bulaşma yolları ve teşhis yöntemleri ayrıntılı biçimde incelenmiştir. Ayrıca, virusların filogenetik ilişkileri, konak hücre reseptörleriyle etkileşimleri ve immun yanıt üzerindeki etkileri değerlendirilmiştir. Tanıda kullanılan güncel yöntemler ile birlikte, kontrol, eradikasyon ve aşılama stratejilerine ilişkin bilgiler de kapsamlı şekilde sunulmuştur.
