Abstract

El parque arqueológico de San Agustín-Huila (Colombia) declarado por la UNESCO en 1985 como patrimonio de la humanidad, es un lugar mágico con estructuras funerarias, elementos escultóricos (guardines) e íconos para la comunidad de la región, como la Fuente de Lavapatas (300m2) descubierta en 1937. El lugar es testimonio de la ingeniería de los escultores precolombinos para tallar la roca (figuras en formas humanas y animales) y obtener el complejo laberinto de canales hídricos que la caracteriza. La Fuente ha sido motivo de proyectos de conservación interdisciplinarios para garantizar su salvaguarda, enfocando los esfuerzos a establecer mecanismos de deterioro por factores como el agua, el medioambiente, la intemperie y el biodeterioro. En el marco del Programa Integral de Conservación para el parque, la presente investigación permitió identificar los principales agentes de biodeterioro, mecanismos de acción e indicadores sobre la roca de la fuente, apoyando la búsqueda certera de medidas de mitigación del impacto biológico.
