Fotoperiodismo y estereotipos de género

Abstract

El fotoperiodismo no está libre de representaciones estereotipadas. El cuarto poder sigue manteniendo inercias relativas a la presentación y representación de estereotipos relacionados con la mujer. La presente investigación tiene como objetivo principal explicar esta circunstancia, exponer ejemplos y aportar soluciones para que el fotoperiodismo sea una herramienta eficaz en la difusión de imágenes alternativas. Para ello se revisará la bibliografía relativa al periodismo y el género, así como los estereotipos en la prensa y, especialmente, en la representación visual. Además, se analizarán los últimos años de los premios World Press Photo para cotejar los resultados con la hipótesis expuesta.
