LAJU PENGUAPAN AIR LAUT AKIBAT KENAIKAN TEMPERATUR PADA ALAT PENYULINGAN DENGAN MEMANFAATKAN SINAR MATAHARI

Abstract

Alat destilasi dapat membantu mengatasi kelangkaan air tawar di daerah pesisir. Dengan sistem penyulingan, air laut dapat dijadikan air tawar yaitu dengan memisahkan antara air dengan garam dengan cara meningkatkan temperatur air laut hingga menguap dan menangkap uap airnya sehingga menghasilkan air yang bersih dan tawar. Pemanfaatan lensa loop pada alat destilasi bertujuan untuk membantu menaikkan temperatur air pada kolektor sehingga mampu meningkatkan hasil air kondensat dan meningkatkan efisiensi alat destilasi. Metode penelitian ini adalah eksperimen. Alat penyulingan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini memiliki luas kolektor sebesar 0,5391 m2 dan menggunakan plat stainlees steel. Penelitian dimulai dari pukul 10.00 WIB hingga pukul 15.30 WIB. Pengambilan data dilakukan 30 menit sekali. Dalam satu hari air laut yang disuling sebanyak 3000 ml menghasilkan air destilat 1430 ml dan memiliki efisiensi sebesar 21,9%.
