De escena del crimen a lugar de memoria

Abstract

Este libro analiza, en perspectiva comparada, cinco lugares de perpetración de violencia de masas ubicados en el llamado "Sur Global" y su transformación en lugares de memoria o museos. Estos cinco espacios son los siguientes: Villa Grimaldi (Chile), Escuela de Mecánica de la Armada (ESMA, Argentina), Memorial da Resistência (Brasil), S-21/Tuol Sleng (Camboya) y Valle de los Caídos/Cuelgamuros (España). Dividido en dos partes, la primera de ellas estudia el complejo proceso de cambio que se opera entre el descubrimiento de la escena del crimen y su conversión en memorial/museo, mientras que la segunda aborda las perspectivas de futuro en un tiempo de globalización de los memoriales. En su introducción, el libro ofrece una reflexión metodológica con criterios para analizar cuestiones clave como la perpetración de crímenes de masas, su tratamiento memorístico a través de la configuración del espacio y el concepto de cambio como categoría histórica.
