Abstract

Este volumen recoge una serie de investigaciones cuyo foco central es el análisis de los componentes representativos y simbólicos del ámbito monacal hispánico. Desde una perspectiva multidisciplinar y pluricultural, se ahonda en casos concretos de fundaciones, iconografía, relaciones sociales, manifestaciones literarias, etc. Todo ello sirve como recordatorio de la importancia que la vida claustral femenina tuvo en la historia, la cultura y la sociedad de América y España, a partir del siglo XV hasta el siglo XX.
