Abstract

Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji metodologi hermeneutika feminis Amina Wadud dan Elisabeth Schüssler Fiorenza. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan penelitian kepustakaan melalui studi komparatif atas biografi tokoh, metodologi hermeneutika, dan gagasan feminis Amina Wadud dan Elisabeth Schüssler. Sumber primer yang digunakan dalam penulisan ini adalah karya literatur yang telah dihasilkan oleh kedua tokoh tersebut. Berdasarkan objek dan konteks ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an yang dikaji Amina Wadud, beliau memperhatikan sejarah turunnya ayat hingga konteks sosial masyarakat muslim pada masa itu. Di antara reinterpretasinya berdasar pada QS. An-Nisa [3]:24 dengan mempertimbangkan struktur bahasa, kaidah ilmu, serta weltanschauung Al-Qur’an. Sedangakan Elisabeth Schüssler melakukan kajian kritis terhadap sejarah gereja dan dominasi patriarki pada interpretasi Alkitab terdahulu. Kemudian, ia melandaskan pemikirannya pada Galatia 3:28 dengan menaruh kecurigaan, usaha pembebasan, dan mengembalikan ingatan atas posisi perempuan, serta mengaktualisasikannya pada masa kini. Kedua interpretasi tersebut memiliki misi untuk melakukan kritik terhadap bias patriarki, implementasi metodologi hermeneutika feminis, serta rekonstruksi terhadap interpretasi narasi keagamaan yang dianggap dapat mewujudkan keadilan dan kesetaraan gender baik dari lingkup agama maupun sosial yang komprehensif. Meski terdapat perbedaan yang mendasar terhadap objek, konteks sejarah, dan metodologi yang disesuaikan, hasil dari pemikiran keduanya mendorong dialog antar iman dan wawasan yang luas untuk mempelajari dan menemukan solusi dari fenomena yang terjadi. Dengan demikian, melalui gagasan feminis Amina Wadud dan Elisabeth Schüssler tersebut, keduanya hendak menyuarakan keadilan bagi perempuan dan golongan tertindas baik dalam ranah akademisi, teologi, dan sosial pada setiap umat beragama di seluruh dunia.
