Growth and Reproduction of Pinellia ternata Breit

Abstract

(1) カラスビシャクの球茎には種々の大きさのものがあるが, その大小によりageに差のあることが推定された。(2) 球茎の出芽は平均気温が13℃となる5月初めに始まり, 5月中には全部のものが出芽した。 出芽前における球茎各部位の伸長は4月中旬頃から始まることが認められた。(3) 球茎から抽出する葉は, 球茎の大小によつて形態が異なり, 球茎が小さいものは単葉であるが, 球茎が肥大生長するにつれて, 単葉から同大の三小葉を着生する個体へと変化する。(4) 球茎の発生深度は, 一般の畑地においては最も深いもので9.5cm, 最も浅いもので0.3cm, 平均5cmであつた。 また, 球茎を5cmと20cmの深度に植付けた場合, 5cm区では発生は順調であつたが, 20cm区では発生は極めて困難であつた。(5) 球茎の生育による肥大は, 球茎が小さいものほど肥大の程度が著しい。 しかし珠芽の着生数は, 球茎の大小を問わず, 1球茎当り2.5-3.5個であつた。(6) 球茎はどの部分で切断しても発芽再生してくる。 ただし幼芽の着生部分を切除した場合には発生が著しく阻害される。(7) 珠芽は親株の葉柄に付着していてまだ緑色を帯びている状態のものでも発芽能力をもつている。 また, 花茎に形成される液果も, 土壌に播種された場合その半数は直ちに発芽し, 秋までに小さな球茎に肥大する。
