
Desde muy temprano, los trabajadores se congregan en la casa del dueño de la chacra, a quien llaman chajrachikoq, él que hace trabajar chacra. Allí, almuerzan a las 6 a.m. y salen a sembrar, llevando sus herramientas de trabajo: arado incaico o chaki tajlla, pico, qorana, yugo con sus respectivas correas, rejas y sus watos (listones de cuero para amarrar la reja); otros van arreando los bueyes, o wakamasas, mientras las mujeres llevan sendas chombas de chicha, botellas de alcohol, en angarillas típicas de la región. Llegados al potrero, amarran las yuntas y alistan las herramientas.
