Abstract

Aun cuando las causas de los problemas de rezago y deficiente rendimiento escolar son variadas; esta aportación coincide con quienes sostienen que tratándose de educación universitaria, contar con inapropiados hábitos de estudio figura como una de las razones principales del fracaso escolar; de ahí que, realizar un diagnóstico respecto a los hábitos adquiridos por estudiantes que aspiran a cursar una licenciatura dentro de la universidad, debiera constituir referente para implementar estrategias que faciliten el desarrollo del aprendizaje e incluso destinarle espacios importantes en los procesos de rediseño curricular que permitan atender las áreas de oportunidad que se detecten con quienes se incorporan por primera vez a la educación superior; con esta consideración, se presenta diagnóstico sobre hábitos de estudio con que ingresan alumnos del primer semestre para cursar las licenciaturas en Administración y Contaduría, impartidas en la Universidad Autónoma de Chiapas; construido a partir de la aplicación de test, integrado con 39 reactivos de respuesta dicotómica, en donde se miden ocho variables, aplicado a universo de 717 estudiantes; los resultados muestran como aceptables los hábitos: actitud hacia el estudio, técnicas de estudio, preparación de pruebas y estado fisiológico; en contraste las áreas de oportunidad en ambas licenciaturas son: lectura, distribución del tiempo; ambiente físico y concentración.
