Factores asociados al incumplimiento del tratamiento terapéutico en personas con diabetes mellitus tipo 2.

Abstract

Introducción: La diabetes, una enfermedad metabólica crónica con altos niveles de glucosa, afecta varios órganos cruciales, incluyendo corazón, vasos sanguíneos, ojos, riñones y nervios. A nivel global, la diabetes tipo 2 es la más común, afectando a 422 millones de personas, con 41 millones en América Latina y el Caribe. La investigación se centra en los factores que influyen en el incumplimiento del tratamiento en pacientes mayores de 40 años con diabetes en Tiquipaya el 2023. Metodología: El estudio, utilizando un diseño de investigación transversal y una muestra de 197 participantes seleccionados por conveniencia, emplea una encuesta estructurada como instrumento de recolección de datos. Se examinan factores como; género, nivel educativo y otros relacionados. Resultados: En Tiquipaya, el 34.5 % de los pacientes rara vez olvida tomar sus medicamentos para la diabetes, mientras que el 28.4 % nunca los olvida. Los principales factores son los horarios ocupados (31.5 %) y el olvido (31.5 %). El 64.5 % recibe apoyo familiar. El 39.6 % modifica dosis sin consultar, y el 63.5 % comunica dificultades al médico. Discusión: El análisis en Tiquipaya revela que el 34.5 % de los pacientes rara vez olvida tomar sus medicamentos, mientras que el 28.4 % nunca los olvida. Los principales factores son los horarios ocupados y el olvido (31.5 % cada uno). El 64.5 % recibe apoyo familiar. El 39.6 % modifica dosis sin consultar y el 63.5 % comunica dificultades al médico.
