Pirólise de lodo de esgoto: uma revisão sistemática

Abstract

Com o aumento do número de estações de tratamento de esgoto, os métodos tradicionais de destinação do lodo (resíduo gerado no processo), como incineração, espalhamento em terras agrícolas e aterros sanitários, oferecem sérios riscos ambientais. O descarte ou a utilização do lodo são um problema devido ao grande volume produzido e ao teor de patógenos e metais pesados que podem estar contidos nesse resíduo, a depender das características do efluente e do tratamento adotado. Alternativas como digestão anaeróbia, gaseificação e pirólise vêm sendo estudadas para avaliação do seu potencial, porém referências teóricas transversais e estruturadas ainda não foram encontradas. Neste artigo foi realizada uma revisão sistemática da literatura que apresenta o estado da arte da aplicação da pirólise com o lodo de esgoto, com foco na comparação com outras tecnologias. O resultado do estudo mostra que a pirólise tem grande potencial como alternativa sustentável para destinação e valorização do lodo.
