Respirometria de Bartha como ferramenta na avaliação da decomposição anaeróbia de efluentes de abatedouros

Abstract

O efluente produzido em abatedouros apresenta elevadas cargas orgânicas e concentração de nutrientes, sendo predominantemente tratado por sistemas de lagoas anaeróbias e facultativas em série (sistema australiano). Verificam-se altas taxas de remoção de demanda bioquímica de oxigênio (em torno de 70%), com baixa geração de lodo e potencial reaproveitamento de subprodutos para produção energética; porém os critérios de projeto baseiam-se normalmente em parâmetros advindos de estudos com efluentes domésticos, cuja tratabilidade é inferior: o resultado é um frequente superdimensionamento das instalações. O presente trabalho propõe uma ferramenta matemática que simula a eficiência de remoção de carga orgânica em função de temperatura e geração de CO2, utilizando-se respirometria de Bartha adaptada, visando à otimização de projetos construtivos de sistemas australianos.
