Compostagem de resíduos urbanos em leiras estáticas com aeração passiva

Abstract

Dentre as técnicas de compostagem, o método em leiras estáticas com aeração passiva apresenta as vantagens de simplicidade de operação e redução de custos por não haver revolvimento frequente. Este trabalho teve como objetivo a comparação dos métodos de leiras revolvidas e leiras estáticas com aeração passiva, analisando os parâmetros de temperatura, pH, relação C/N, condutividade elétrica e índice de germinação. Para tanto, foram empregados restos de alimentos e podas de árvores trituradas com a montagem de 6 leiras, com alturas de 50, 75 e 100cm, de forma que metade das leiras foram revolvidas (R50, R75 e R100) e a outra parcela permaneceu estática (E50, E75 e E100). Apenas as leiras com altura de 100 cm foram consideradas adequadas quanto à temperatura, de acordo com a Resolução CONAMA nº 481/2017, e Instrução Normativa 25/2009 do MAPA. A falta de revolvimento não teve influência no suprimento de oxigênio para decomposição dos resíduos. Compostagem em leiras com aeração passiva é uma alternativa eficiente e com custo reduzido, em comparação com leiras revolvidas, no tratamento de resíduos sólidos urbanos.
