Aclimatación in vitro de especies forestales nativas del Sur de Manabí en peligro de extinción

Abstract

Las especies forestales Myroxylon balsamum, Tabebuia crhysantha y Tabebuia billbergii, son especies maderables que estan en proceso de erosion genetica en la zona sur de Manabi (Ecuador), por la constante depredacion de su medioambiente. La presente investigacion tuvo como objetivo, determinar la adaptacion de las plantas producidas in vitro (vitroplantas) a las condiciones de ambiente natural. Para esto, plantas obtenidas mediante micropropagacion de M. balsamum, T. crhysantha y T. billbergii, fueron transplantados a sustrato compuesto de 40% de arena de rio, 40% de humus y 20% de aserrin de madera descompuesta. El sustrato fue desinfestado con vapor de agua a 121 oC durante tres h. El riego se aplico dos veces al dia con un aspersor durante 20 dias, reduciendo el riego paulatinamente los siguientes 40 dias, regandolas a partir de este momento una vez al dia durante otros 20 dias. Para la evaluacion de la aclimatacion se estimo la supervivencia, altura de planta y numero de hojas (vigor) de las plantas. Los resultados mostraron que M. balsamun, T. crhysantha y T. billbergii, tuvieron un 65, 80 y 70% respectivamente de supervivencia. Los tamanos de las vitroplantas estuvieron entre 17.07 y 19.53 cm en el periodo de preaclimatacion, con un vigor entre 7 y 14 hojas respectivamente. La altura de las plantas fue de 20.8 a 30.8 cm y fueron consideradas preparadas para la plantacion.
