
A hemorragia pós-parto (HPP) é uma das principais complicações obstétricas, caracterizada pela perda de 500 mL ou mais após parto vaginal ou 1000 mL após cesariana. Pode evoluir rapidamente para choque e morte, exigindo intervenção imediata. As causas mais comuns são descritas como “4 Ts”: tônus (atonia uterina), trauma, tecido retido e trombina, sendo a atonia a principal etiologia. Este estudo realizou uma revisão narrativa em bases como BVS, Medline e PubMed, buscando evidências sobre prevenção, fatores de risco e manejo. Os resultados destacam a importância do pré-natal na identificação de riscos, além do manejo ativo do terceiro período do parto e uso adequado de uterotônicos para reduzir a incidência e gravidade da HPP.
