Democracia abierta y política deliberativa.

Abstract

Se analiza críticamente la propuesta de Hélène Landemore respecto del concepto de “democracia abierta”, que plantea en su libro homónimo recientemente publicado. La tesis a defender sostiene que, en el plano filosófico político, dicha propuesta no ofrece un respaldo conceptualmente sólido en lo que refiere a los fundamentos que la respaldan. Teniendo en cuenta la explícita mención que la autora realiza respecto de la concepción habermasiana de la democracia deliberativa, en el sentido de que suscribe a su planteamiento teórico, el presente trabajo procede a analizar algunos de los presupuestos que forman parte de la citada propuesta, y también de esta teoría del filósofo alemán, con el objeto de contribuir a la justificación filosófico – política de la concepción “abierta” de la democracia.
