Abstract

Kumbang Brontispa longissima merusak atau menyerang pucuk kelapa terutama tanaman kelapa yang masih muda, sehingga mengakibatkan pucuk tanaman tidak dapat berkembang sempurna, bahkan dapat mengakibatkan kematian. Penggunaan berbagai variasi aplikasi cendawan entomopatogen Metarhizium anisopliae terbukti cukup efektif menekan serangan B. longissima. Metabolit sekunder yang dihasilkan oleh cendawan ini mulai banyak dipopulerkan sebagai alternatif formulasi cara baru. Tulisan ini bertujuan menguji efektivitas metabolit sekunder dalam mengendalikan hama kumbang janur kelapa (B. longissima) dan membandingkannya dengan suspensi murni spora Metarhizium spp. Metabolit sekunder diproduksi dengan metode perbanyakan agens hayati secara cair menggunakan media perbanyakan air cucian beras ditambah air kelapa. Serangga uji B. longgissima diambil dari lapangan dan dipisahkan di laboratorium menurut tahap perkembangannya (telur, larva, pupa dan imago). Pengamatan dilakukan di Laboratorium Lapangan BPTP Pontianak dengan Metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 6 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan perlakuan suspensi spora Metarhizium spp. dan formulasi metabolit sekunder Metarhizium spp. tidak berbeda nyata berdasarkan uji jarak berganda Duncan. Suspensi spora Metarhizium spp. menyebabkan mortalitas serangga uji sebesar 55 % pada hari ke-6 setelah aplikasi, sedangkan formulasi metabolit sekunder Metarhizium spp. menyebabkan mortalitas 50 % pada hari ke-7.
