Abstract

OBJETIVO: presentar el caso “Exenteración orbitaria en carcinoma basocelular periorbitario” el carcinoma basocelular es un tumor frecuente de la piel, siendo el tumor maligno más frecuente de los párpados, que representa el 80% de los presentados en esta localización. MÉTODO: los resultados que se presentan son de un estudio de caso clínico de un paciente con carcinoma basocelular peri orbitario. RESULTADOS: paciente masculino de 90 años de edad quien con diagnostico de carcinoma basocelular peri orbitario izquierdo por lo que se le realiza exenteración orbitaria izquierda se le coloca un injerto de espesor parcial con adecuada evolución clínica. CONCLUSION: este tipo de lesiones puede aparecer como una lesión de evolución lenta que puede causar destrucción de los tejidos en estadios avanzados. En base a la localización, la extensión, el grado de infiltración se determinará si se realizará la resección total o parcial de los tejidos, así como la posible reconstrucción de la cavidad orbitaria. Se practicó una exenteración tipo III donde ambos párpados son retirados con el contenido orbitario además de una reconstrucción con un injerto de espesor parcial.
