Abstract

Der Rang Wilhelm Diltheys (1833–1911) als Klassiker der deutschen Philosophie ist unumstritten. Dieses Studienbuch führt konzentriert in sein Leben und Werk ein. Es ist ganz auf die Bedürfnisse von Studierenden des Fachs Philosophie zugeschnitten. Alle wichtigen Aspekte von Diltheys Werk kommen darin zur Darstellung. Nach einem kurzen Überblick über seine Biografie werden in eingehenden, textnah interpretierenden Darstellungen die wichtigsten Arbeitsfelder und theoretisch-philosophischen Konzeptionen Diltheys vorgestellt. Dies sind seine Philosophie der Geisteswissenschaften, seine Philosophie des Lebens, seine deskriptive Psychologie, seine Entwürfe zur Hermeneutik sowie seine späte Weltanschauungslehre. Eine Skizze der Rezeptions- und Wirkungsgeschichte beschließt die Darstellung. Ergänzt wird die Einführung durch eine ausführliche Bibliografie der Primär- sowie der wichtigsten Sekundärliteratur.
