Asma grave in età pediatrica

Abstract

L’asma grave in età pediatrica rappresenta una delle sfide più complesse della moderna pneumologia pediatrica, con un notevole impatto clinico e sociale sulla qualità della vita dei pazienti e un considerevole impegno di risorse sanitarie. Le recenti acquisizioni sui meccanismi fisiopatologici, la distinzione tra fenotipi ed endotipi e l’introduzione delle terapie biologiche hanno trasformato radicalmente la comprensione e il trattamento di questa patologia, aprendo prospettive cliniche impensabili fino a pochi anni fa. Questa evoluzione impone, tuttavia, un cambiamento culturale: distinguere l’asma difficile da trattare dall’asma realmente grave rappresenta il primo passo fondamentale per costruire percorsi assistenziali appropriati ed efficaci. Con la presente monografia, la Società Italiana per le Malattie Respiratorie Infantili (SIMRI) intende offrire ai professionisti uno strumento pratico e aggiornato che affronti in modo organico gli aspetti diagnostici e terapeutici, con particolare attenzione alla personalizzazione della cura e alla continuità della presa in carico verso l’età adulta.
