Formulasi dan Evaluasi Sediaan Masker Peel Off Komedo dari Daun Kemangi

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Kemangi (Ocimum basilicum L.) merupakan tanaman herba yang memiliki senyawa aktif berupa minyak atsiri, alkaloid, saponin, flavonoid, steroid, tannin dan fenol yang bermanfaat sebagai anti jerawat. Salah satu jenis jerawat yang sering dialami yaitu komedo. Komedo seringkali muncul dibagian hidung dan mengganggu penampilan. Daun kemangi (Ocimum basilicum L.) memiliki aktivitas antibakteri dan dapat diformulasikan dalam sediaan masker peel-off komedo. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan mengevaluasi sediaan masker peel-off komedo yang dibuat dari ekstrak daun kemangi (Ocimum basilicum L.) dengan basis gliserin dan matriks PVA. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan tiga formula yang dibuat dengan variasi konsentrasi gliserin dan matriks PVA. Masker peel-off komedo yang telah dibuat akan diuji evaluasi sediaan selama penyimpanan yang meliputi: uji organoleptis, homogentitas, waktu pengeringan, daya sebar, daya lekat dan uji pH. Hasil: Masker Peel Off Komedo ekstrak etanol daun kemangi (Ocimum basilicum L.) memenuhi persyaratan kestabilan uji fisik yang meliputi uji organoleptis, homogenitas, waktu mengering, daya sebar, daya lekat, dan uji pH selama 28 hari penyimpanan. Kesimpulan: Variasi konsentrasi PVA sebagai gelling agent dan Gliserin sebagai humektan berpengaruh terhadap konsistensi, daya lekat, daya sebar, dan waktu mengering masker peel-off yang dimana semakin tinggi konsentrasi PVA dan semakin rendah konsentrasi gliserin maka konsistensinya akan semakin meningkat, daya lekat semakin lama, daya sebar dan waktu mengering semakin menurun. Kata Kunci : Daun kemangi, Masker peel-off komedo
