Karakteristik Asap Cair Tempurung Kelapa Hasil Pirolisis Dengan Proses Destilasi Sederhana

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi temperatur untuk mendapatkan kualitas asap cair yang terbaik dan mengetahui perbandingan parameter indeks bias, density, pH, konsentrasi asam, aroma, dan warna asap cair sebelum dan sesudah didestilasi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni sampai Juli 2016 di laboratorium hasil hutan, Program Studi Teknologi Hasil Hutan, Jurusan Teknologi Pertanian, Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Samarinda. Proses destilasi dilakukan dengan memasukkan asap cair sebanyak 1000 mL dimasukkan ke dalam panji ukuran 1000 mL, dididihkan dengan mantel pemanas dengan variasi temperatur, yaitu 75-90 oC untuk fraksi I, 91-110 oC untuk fraksi II, 111-130 oC untuk fraksi III dan 131-150 0C untuk fraksi IV, dan 151-200 untuk fraksi V. Analisis produk asap cair hasil destilasi meliputi nilai Indeks bias, Konsentrasi asam, Derajat keasaman (pH), Warna, dan aroma. Hasil pengamatan pengujian dari laboratorium menunjukkan bahwa Parameter Indeks Bias, Densiti, Derajat Keasaman (pH), untuk setiap variasi temperatur memiliki nilai yang lebih kecil setelah didestilasi dibanding sebelum didestilasi, sedangkan nilai Asam Asetat setelah didestilasi lebih besar dibanding sebelum didestilasi. Kemampuan alat-alat destilasi asap cair bergantung pada pengaturan dan variasi temperatur yang dlakukan untuk mengetahui perbedaan nilai kualitas asap cair sebelum dan sesudah didestilasi.
