Pengembangan Teknologi Pasca Panen Rumput Laut Berkelanjutan : Analisis Kinerja dan Kelayakan Ekonomi

Abstract

Indonesia memiliki potensi luar biasa dalam budidaya rumput laut, namun terkendala pada tahap pascapanen, khususnya proses pengeringan. Metode pengeringan konvensional yang mengandalkan sinar matahari secara langsung terbukti tidak efisien, bergantung pada cuaca, dan menghasilkan produk berkualitas rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan mengevaluasi teknologi pengering surya hibrida (Solar Dryer Hybrid) sebagai solusi tepat guna untuk Usaha Kecil dan Menengah (UKM) rumput laut. Metodologi penelitian meliputi perancangan dan fabrikasi prototipe SDH tipe dome yang mengintegrasikan kolektor surya, sistem konveksi paksa dengan kipas DC, dan pemanas tambahan berbasis biomassa. Kinerja teknis SDH diuji secara komparatif dengan metode pengeringan konvensional (penjemuran terbuka) dan pengering surya aktif (tanpa pemanas tambahan). Parameter yang diukur meliputi laju pengeringan, efisiensi termal, dan kualitas produk akhir serta dilakukan analisis kelayakan ekonomi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa SDH mampu mengurangi waktu pengeringan secara drastis menjadi kurang dari 24 jam, dengan efisiensi termal yang jauh lebih tinggi. Kualitas rumput laut kering yang dihasilkan SDH unggul secara signifikan dalam hal kebersihan, warna, dan konsistensi kadar air akhir yang memenuhi standar industri. SDH sangat layak secara finansial dengan NVP (Rp 38,723,458), IRR (176%), Net B/C (1,41) dan Payback Periode (2,6 tahun).
