MENINGKATKAN pH SALIVA DENGAN KONSUMSI TEH HIJAU

Abstract

Pencegahan demiralisasi gigi dapat dilakukan dengan mengkontrol pH saliva. Upaya pemeliharaan dapat dilakukan dengan berkumur larutan yang tepat, salah satunya teh hijau yang memberikan manfaat untuk kesehatan tubuh dan rongga mulut. Tujuan dalam peneltian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan pH saliva sebelum dan setelah konsumsi teh hijau oleh mahasiswa jurusan kesehatan Gigi Politeknik Bina Husada Kendari. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah Quasy Eksperiment dengan desain penelitian one group pre and post test. Penelitian ini menggunakan 30 sampel mahasiswa Politeknik Bina Husada Kendari. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pemeriksaan pH saliva dengan pH meter digital. Hasil penelitian diketahui pH saliva sebelum intervensi pada kategori basa yaitu 25 orang (83,3%), sedangkan pH saliva setelah intervensi pada kategori basa yaitu 29 orang (96,7%). Kesimpulan hasil penelitian ini adalah terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pH saliva sebelum dan setelah mengkonsumsi teh hijau oleh mahasiswa jurusan kesehatan Gigi Politeknik Bina Husada Kendari, dimana terjadi peningkatan pH saliva setelah mengkonsumi teh hijau.
