Abstract

Cabai Katokkon adalah salah satu jenis cabai di Indonesia yang memiliki potensi ekonomis yang tinggi namun belum banyak dieksplortasi serta diidentifakasi. Cabai katokkon merupakan salah satu komuditi yang paling banyak diminati Masyarakat sekitar Tanah Toraja karena aroma yang khas dan rasa yang pedas.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi serta menentukan karakteristik keragaman morfologi cabai katokkon. Kegunaan penelitian sebagai bahan pengembangan dalam program pemuliaan tanaman dan budidaya cabai katokkon.penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Gren house kebun Pendidikan inergreteed farming system, Sulawesi Selatan, Kabupaten Gowa pada bulan Maret-Juli 2023. Rancangan untuk karakter morfologi mengunakan rancangan acak kelompok dengan empat karakter dan tiga ulangan dan pengamaytan karakter morfologi berdasarkan deskripsi cabai IPGRI. Hasil penelitian memberikan perbedaan karakter pada buah, tinggi tanaman, umur berbunga dan berbuah dan Panjang daun. One type of chili in Indonesia that has high economic potential but has not been widely explored and identified is katokkon chili. Katokkon chili is one of the most popular commodities in the community around Tanah Toraja because of its distinctive aroma and spicy taste. The purpose of this study was to identify and characterize the morphological diversity of Katokkon chili (Capsicum chinense jacq).The use of research as a development material in plant breeding programs and cultivation of Katokkon chili plants.This research was conducted at Gren house educational garden Inergreteed farmin system, South Sulawesi, Gowa Regency in March-July 2023. The design for morphological characters uses a group randomized design with four characters and three replications and observations of morphological characters based on IPGRI chili descriptions. The results showed differences in fruit characters, plant height, flowering and fruiting age, and leaf length
