Satisfação do peso corporal frente à percepção da imagem corporal e IMC

Abstract

O estudo teve por objetivo avaliar a percepção e a satisfação da imagem corporal diante de sua adequação ao peso corporal. Metodologia: Preenchimento de questionário virtual com 235 trabalhadores de instituição de pesquisa e ensino em Brasília/DF. Resultados: Maioria mulheres (68,9%), idade variou entre 21 e 68 anos, (M=37 anos), mais de 90% dos participantes com nível superior completo e com maioria (65,9%) recebendo mais de 5 salários-mínimos. 50% das pessoas estavam acima do peso e 63,8% dos participantes não estavam satisfeitos com seu peso corporal. Os resultados da autorreflexão sobre a imagem corporal acordo com o IMC mostram uma heterogeneidade nas respostas em relação à reflexão sobre o perfil corporal, tanto para homens quanto para mulheres. As mulheres apresentam a autorreferencia de seu peso mais semelhante ao retrato de seu IMC. Conclusão: Verificação de distorção da representatividade das imagens em relação ao IMC. Necessidade de outros estudos que avaliem aspectos da percepção da imagem corporal.
