Abstract

O objetivo do trabalho foi estimar a evapotranspiração de referência pelo método padrão Penman-Monteith FAO 56 e Hargreaves-Samani (1985) a partir da temperatura máxima e mínima em escala temporal mensal para os municípios de Sobral e Tauá no Estado do Ceará. Os dados meteorológicos foram obtidos junto ao Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia (INMET), onde o município de Sobral compreende uma série temporal de 18 anos (1961 a 1978) e Tauá 15 anos (1964 a 1978). Para o cálculo da ETo a partir da temperatura máxima (Tx) e temperatura mínima (Tn) utilizou-se a velocidade média do vento para o período seco e para o período chuvoso, e valores fixos de 1 a 5 m s-1. O desempenho do método Hargreaves-Samani (1985) foi satisfatório nos dois municípios, podendo ser utilizado pelos agricultores de ambas as regiões. A ETo a partir da Tx e Tn obteve o maior índice de confiança com as velocidades médias do vento correspondentes aos períodos chuvoso e seco em ambos os municípios, para os valores fixos Sobral apresentou o maior índice de confiança de 0,85 com a velocidade do vento de 1,5 m s-1, já em Tauá obteve-se o maior índice de confiança de 0,91 com a velocidade de 2,5 m s-1.
